Kumbhalgarh fort was built in the 15 th century and is named after Rana. The Kumbhalgarh fort Rajasthan is another fort that has remained unconquered till date. The fort has thick walls wide enough for eight abreast horses.This Fort is the birthplace of King Maharana Partap. The fort is self-sufficient and has within its grouping almost everything to withstand a long blockade. The fort fell only once that too to the joint armies of Mughal and of Amber for shortage of drinking water.
